Black Book: Getting T-Shirts Printed

14,000 and counting. That’s how many t-shirts we’ve printed for dance studios over the last few years and we’ve experienced the joys and crisis of t-shirt printing across a lot of vendors. Here are a few top picks from our little black book.

Underground Prints

These folks have a great catalog of merch to print on in addition to t-shirts, but we love them most of all for their stellar customer service. We’ve done simple online orders with them and we’ve spent time in their offices in Minneapolis as well. The quality is outstanding, and the service is consistently good. If you have an idea that isn’t on the site, give them a call and they will put together custom options for you. Great choice if you want to print more than t-shirts all in one place.

OO Shirts

The online shirt designer is helpful if you don’t have your own designer on hand. Instant quotes and free shipping options make OO Shirts worth considering, but this is a go-to when we need to print small batches of shirts for a campaign or staff without paying a huge penalty for needing a small order.

Jakprints

For bulk shirt printing like recital t-shirts or dance studio t-shirts, you’ll be hard pressed to find better all-in pricing than Jakprints. The customer service is solid. The product is actually QA’d before it’s sent to you, and you get notices letting you know they pulled some printed items from the batch because they weren’t good. (It happens, printing on fabric isn’t as easy as printing on paper). We’ve placed mixed orders with kids and adult shirts, and worked with them to use one art file across both sizes to save on screen charges.

Rush Order Tees

What Rush Order Tees lacks in the customer service department they make up for in price. Despite the name, if you order well in advance (and we highly suggest that you do) there are big discounts to be had, say up to 30% off. They have a large selection of shirts that come in youth and adult sizes, and standard shipping is free. Good for those times when you can plan well in advance and are printing larger volumes of shirts as the price breaks kick in as you print more.
